Dear B-A, A question was posed by a contributor to the Sydney Morning Herald's Column 8 today. Given that so many AFL teams have bird names as nicknames. eg Hawks, Crows, Swans etc. and so many so-named are perched at the top of the ladder, does AFL actually stand for Aviary Football League? Perhaps some Sherrinologists could elucidate. Cheers, Carl Clifford =============================== To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message: unsubscribe (in the body of the message, with no Subject line) to: http://birding-aus.org =============================== |
