Published sightings for the week ending 19 Aug 2012.

Sun 19 Aug Whistling Kite Fyshwick Sewage Treatment Plant
A single Whistling Kite observed flying north towards Majura Valley.

Sat 18 Aug Satin Bowerbird Namadgi Visitors Centre
A large concentration of green Satin Bowerbirds with at least 20 observed. Only one black male.

Thu 16 Aug Superb Parrot Vagabond Cr McKellar
Flock of 20+ Superb Parrots settled on mulch front yard opposite our house at 07:45. Did not move as I drove off. Ironically I had seen one dead individual further along the street the night before when walking the dog

150m north of start at Hindmarsh Drive in clump of wattle - at 9:15am

Tue 14 Aug Spangled Drongo Eucumbene Drive, Duffy
An juvenile Spangled Drongo was at the previously reported location on Eucumbene Drive, Duffy at lunchtime (12:30 to 12:45) today. [Moderator's note: The bird was first seen earlier in the day by Beth Mantle on Narrabundah Hill and reported to the COG chatline.] [Mods second note: Initially thought to be an immature, but likely to be juvenile (certainly first year bird)]

Southern Whiteface (2) and Restless Flycatcher (1) in the paddock to the right of the second entrance.

Yellow-tufted Honeyeater Tharwa Sandwash, Gigerline Nature Reserve
Yellow-tufted Honeyeater (2) a pair seen next to the carpark moving in and out of the eucalyptus. Five other honeyeater species seen too, including Yellow-faced Honeyeater and Fuscous Honeyeater.

Tree Martin Two were circling overhead just above the tree line around 5pm [Moderator's comment: First report of probable returning migrants]
