Last Wednesday, 13 June, the Coalition Against Duck Shooting had its final display of dead birds outside the offices of the Department of Primary Industries, Melbourne. These were the birds displayed. Protected species: Crested Pigeon (2) Australian Pelican Raven spp Magpie Black Swan Eurasian Coot Welcome Swallow Whistling Kite Dusky Moorhen (juvenile) Game species: Australian Shelduck Pacific Black Duck (2) Wood Duck (4) Grey Teal (7) Pink-eared Duck (10) Unidentified/decomposed (4) Rescuers went to wetlands near Lake Buloke this weekend (June16/17) to look for any wounded birds, and to look for evidence of shooting after the season's close (June 11). =============================== To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message: unsubscribe (in the body of the message, with no Subject line) to: http://birding-aus.org =============================== |
