Published sightings for the week ending 10 Jun 2012.

Fri 8 Jun Swamp Harrier, Hardhead and Pelican Forth/Turner's Beach
Pair of Swamp Harriers displaying to one another over Forth River (later leaving, or overwinterers??), four Pelicans and four Hardhead at Turner's Beach Sewage Ponds - all as we were out looking for James' Great Crested Grebe (which we didn't find).
John and Shirley Tongue

Tue 5 Jun Great Crested Grebe Forth River, Turners Beach.
Great Crested Grebe: 1 Sighting made at 9am from the Bass Highway bridge over the Forth River. Uncommon to Rare in most parts of Northern Tasmania.
James Melville

Mon 4 Jun Blue-Winged Parrot Sealers Springs property. Woolnorth. Far NW Tas.
75 birds in paddock adjacent to mudflats. Don't know if these are late northward migrants or rather large over-wintering flock. Private Land.
Richard and Erica Ashby, Eric and Kit Hiller.

Little Egret Tidal mudflats between Woolnorth and Kangaroo Isl, far NW Tas.
Two birds feeding separately but joining company with a Great Egret when spooked. This sp. seldom seen in these parts. Woolnorth is private land but region is accessible from public road to Robbins Passage.
Richard Ashby
