Our pelagic trip off the Sunshine Coast today was cancelled so some of the would-be participants spent the day birding on land. Nice birds today around the Sunshine Coast included Shining Flycatcher, Dusky Honeyeater, King Quail, Lewin's Rail (seen at two sites), Pale-vented Bush-hen (Buff-banded Rail and Spotless Crake were also recorded), Spotted Harrier, and to top it off at dusk, an Eastern Grass Owl.
