Pursuing the theme of Who is John Weigel, our latest Australian Big Year
birder, I am advised that he is indeed the Director of the Australian
Reptile Park (presumably on a year-long sabbatical). A little Web searching
produced the following (no mention of birding interests?).

Perhaps John might like to join Birding-aus (if he isn't a member already)
and tell us all a little more about his Big Year?? Or Sean Dooley might like
to contact him (surely?) and encourage him to contribute to Australian
Birdlife.
