Square-tailed Kite, Peregrine Falcon
Altona CSR Landcare Reserve, South Australia
Square-tailed Kite (1) First seen soaring low over main track, 100m north of entrance, and then circled quite low for at least 5 minutes above and around the parking area.
Peregrine Falcon (2) Possibly 3. One bird seen off of Blue Loop; about 10 minutes later a pair of birds was seen 100m in from entrance.

Little (Tricoloured) Grebe
Roebuck Plains , Western Australia
Late on Saturday 3rd March, I briefly observed a 'Little Grebe' on
some ephemeral water on Roebuck Plains near the Broome Bird
Observatory. The taxonomy is interesting. The IOC have now split Little Grebe, and the new species Tricoloured Grebe is the closest to the north of Australia, and hence it is very likely to be this species. BARC has
been looking into the previous records of "Little Grebe" in Australia
(Darwin & Qld) as to whether they are Tricoloured Grebes. This is the first record for Western Australia.

Hodgson’s Hawk-cuckoo
Home Island, Cocos-Keeling Islands
The next side-trip was to Home Island, where one member of the group (Scott) had views of a Hodgson’s hawk-cuckoo.

Saunder's Tern
South Island, Cocos-Keeling Islands
A trip to South Island on motorized canoes was a birding highlight, giving tremendous views of 10+ Saunder’s Terns, one Gull-billed Tern, six Grey-tailed Tattlers, 40+ Ruddy Turnstones, Sanderling, Red-necked Stint, and both Greater and Lesser Sandplovers. Common Noddies were seen on the trip back to West Island.
