Hi Carol, Pied Butcherbirds over the past 15years appear to be moving further south as they are now at Wisemans Ferry and Laughtondale Gully a pair bred for a number of years on River Road about 10km south of Wisemans and Im told there are a pair in the Narrabeen area. I have recorded single birds in Wilberforce a couple of times in the spring and I recorded one at Nth Sackville in spring. The nearest location to Sydney that I knew of was prior to these records was from the Upper McDonald area where there were breeding pairs.
