Subject: | Princess Parrot gets a new scientific name? |

I was recently informed that Princess Parrot is to be given a new scientific name. Changed from Polytelis alexandrae to *Spathopterus alexandrae. *This of course would have it removed from being a close relative to Superb and Regent Parrots. Can anyone tell me a bit more about this please? Especially the decision to remove it from Polytelis. * * *Thanks very much!* * * *Don Kimball* http://polytelismedia.wordpress.com/ =============================== To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message: unsubscribe (in the body of the message, with no Subject line) to: http://birding-aus.org =============================== |
