Not the first online system to close (and I am looking at more than bird
sightings) and won't be the last. Online systems are convenient but anyone
using them should be prepared for them to disappear at a moment's notice as
the business model is often very weak (at least there is some notice for
this one) and thus always make sure you have copies of your data/photos etc
on your own PC - which of course you back up regularly!
