Interesting sightings in the Brisbane Valley today included 68 Banded Lapwings at 7-Mile Lagoon (an unusually high number for this species, which is scarce in southeast Queensland), 76 Great Crested Grebes at Lake Manchester (again, very high numbers for this species), 2 Stubble Quail seen and others heard at 7-Mile Lagoon, 1 Square-tailed Kite at Mt Hallam (between Esk & Coominya).
