G'day everyone,

Some interesting discussions on this topic, but I feel that most of you have
made one wrong assumption and missed the point completely on this whole
issue. And that assumption is that these emails are legitimately sent by
Balangara. They are not. This is nothing more than a scam set up by other
parties posing as Balangara to get you to part with your money. If you look
more closely at the emails you can see some clues to point this out.

1. First, as has been pointed out already, very few legitimate
companies or organisations that are trying to raise funds will do so
illegally by doing mass mailings that contravene the Spam act(2003). Why
would any legit org/Co want to create bad publicity that would have the
opposite effect that they are intending by taking such a course of action?

2. If in doubt, check out the company's website and contact them! Has
anyone yet contacted Mark @ Balangara? I sent him an email this morning
bringing this issue to his attention. I hope to get a reply from him soon.

3. Check the email address of the sender against the email address
found on the website. The address that comes with the emails is
mark= But if you go to Balangara's
website, the email address they supply on their contacts page is

<=Hello%20again>

4. Don't EVER click on any links in the email! This includes
unsubscribe options! Really important. If you click on a link thinking you
are unsubscribing you aren't in fact unsubscribing, in fact the very
opposite will happen. By clicking on a link in a scam email as this one, you
are in fact confirming to the spammers that your email address is a
legitimate one. They will then send you more spam and scam emails because
they know you will respond to them.

Regards,
Mark
