Marlene Lyell's post on the Channel-billed Cuckoo reminded me that we dipped on the species in the NSW Twitchathon. We did, however, have a probable Channel-billed Cuckoo heard calling as it flew low over Coachwood Picnic Area in Washpool National Park just on dark. Although the call was like a Channel-billed Cuckoo's it had an unusual quality to it so I wasn't prepared to call it despite Russell Jago being convinced that it was one.
