Hi All,
Storms brewing at Gibraltar Range, NE NSW, and my neck hurts from looking
for Needletails & Forktails. No sign yet, but I'd urge all with flexible
necks to keep an eye on the skies, Michael Tarburton is doing a great job of
monitoring these species. There is environmental "stuff" going on in their
breeding grounds which we can all help monitor.
I'll post when I get a sighting, and I'm also keeping notes for Mike & his
valuable project.
Sacred Kingfishers have moved in this week, and Cicadabird has started
calling regularly. Alan McBride quite rightly mentioned to me that they
arrive a few weeks before they start calling, this is also my experience.
I have posted a short article on the astounding dawn chorus of birdsong
happening here now http://aussiebirding.wildiaries.com/trips/10804 .
Cheers & happy birding!
