They're back! It's been noted that at least 16 OBPs have arrived at their summer breeding grounds in Tasmania. Here's the chair of the Recovery Team, Mark Holdsworth, on Hobart radio: http://blogs.abc.net.au/tasmania/2011/10/waiting-for-the-orange-bellied-parrot.html Secondly, a new charity has been formed to help fund research and other conservation programs. Birders are invited to donate to the Wildcare Save the OBP fund: http://www.wildcaretas.org.au/programs?corporate_type_ID=9 Donations over $2 are tax-deductible, and over $1000 has already been pledged. Lastly, 'Save the Orange-bellied Parrot' is a Facebook page featuring news and views about this most lovely of threatened birds: www.facebook.com/savetheobp =============================== To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message: unsubscribe (in the body of the message, with no Subject line) to: http://birding-aus.org =============================== |
