We live in Wallum scrub 10km south of the centre of Bundaberg, Qld. We had a White-throated Nightjar call last night at dusk. Normally we only hear them call on a full moon. My records show we heard it earlier this month as well. Previous records show it in November last year. In 2008 we recorded it in August, September, October and January 2009. There has been considerable land clearing for housing near us recently so we are always pleased to hear the bird may still be around.
