The St Kilda penguin colony will once again have volunteer Penguin Guides for summer 2011/12. With hundreds of visitors to the colony, guides have an opportunity to entertain and inform the public about these fascinating, iconic birds. It's a chance to impart the conservation message to a very receptive audience. It would be great if Melbourne birders joined the roster. Fortnightly shifts are done on the night of your choice, with at least two other guides. Training is for three hours on October 2nd. Contact me for more information.
