Published sightings for the week ending 21 Aug 2011.

Sun 21 Aug Spotless Crake, Horsfield's Bronze-Cuckoo Thompson Beach
Spotless Crake (5) One bird seen for 2-3 seconds as it flushed. Smaller than Australian Crake and plain & sooty in appearance. Flew with legs trailing and dived into deep shrubby glasswort cover. Other birds in immediate vicinity responded with single note 'squeaks' not unlike a dog chew toy when I attempted to pish birds into showing themselves. See list notes. Horsfield's Bronze-Cuckoo (1) Lone bird calling for extended period, seen on dune area between northern trail and eastern claypan (Crake area) great view!

One Painted Honeyeater found about 500metres from where we saw it 10 days ago. Found it this time while following a pair of Restless Flycatchers! Not sure if its the same bird as last time or maybe there's a few around? hard to say!

Scarlet Chested Parrot Gluepot/Taylorville
Three pairs all checking hollows. Raining the whole time we were there didn't seem to bother them at all.
