Masked Lapwing
Perth International Airport, Western Australia
A solitary Masked Lapwing present at the RAC 4WD Course, Grogan Road, Perth International Airport. It was present about half way between the Centre on Grogan Road and the 4WD course next to some water on the Abernerthy Road side. Do not know if the the general public would get access or not but worth a try if you want to add it to your Perth list.

Short-billed Black-cockatoo
Beliar Park, north of Kwinana; btw. Brown Mountain Lake and the road, Western Australia
About a dozen birds sitting on a dead tree. Could not get close enough (no binoculars either) to determine if short of long billed but definitely white patches on side of face. The attached photos are unedited, but also not good enough to tell if the birds are short billed or long (Baudin's or Carnaby's). Heading back whilst still light for another look. (Ed: most likely that these were Short-billed Black-cockatoo)
