Birdline Western Australia

Published sightings for the week ending 31 Jul 2011.

Thu 21 Jul Crimson Rosella Murdoch University, Perth, Western Australia
I saw this bird feeding alongside a Ringnecks at Murdoch University. I took a photo as I have seen a lot of birds, coming from a semi rural area and had NEVER seen one like this in Western Australia. From research on the net it looks like it might be a Crimson Rosella which are not supposed to be present here in the west.

Banded Stilt Lake austin, Western Australia
Lake Austin lies about 22 kms south of Cue. While driving through the area we came across Banded Stilt mixed in with Red-necked Avocet. In all about 100 individuals.
