In Hattah for the emu-wren, try also anywhere along Konardin track, which runs 
east-west between Mournpall & Nowingi tracks. I've had them there numerous 
times about halfway along it & also nearer to it's junction with Nowingi Tk.
 
Outside the park, I've also had them over the years west of Hattah township out 
towards the Murray-Sunset NP. I'm not sure of exact distance but it would've 
been 5-10kms west of hwy when you get amongst some small pink salt pans with 
some good spinifex/mallee in the surrounding low hills. I remember getting them 
in mallee about 200mtrs in on the southern side of this east-west track - sorry 
I can't be more specific...!!
