Bob,
Which type of MouseOff do you mean, MouseOff BD or Mouseoff ZP ? If it
is BD, I think that anyone caught using it on crops should be bounced
through the courts, hard. The manufacturers web site and, I presume,
labels and MSDS states that it is not approved for use in broad-acre
crops. If it is MouseOff ZP, if it is applied as per label i.e. late
in the day, after birds have stopped feeding and at 2-3 grains per
square metre, I have no problem with it. Under mouse plague
conditions, I doubt that there would be much left, if any for the
birds next morning.
With MouseOff ZP, there is no risk of secondary poisoning from
consumption of poisoned mice. The mice dies of internal Phosphine
poisoning.
As for those who use homebrewed poisons, the same treatment as for
those who misuse MouseOff BD

I know there has been an earlier thread on this but I wonder if anyone
has
any further thoughts or have read the article on p. 16 of the Friday
Financial Review by Emily Parkinson, "Mice Threaten 1m hectares" and
has any
comment about the use and risk of firstly "MouseOff" and secondly the
use of
"homemade" poisons.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts,
