You can get a RAV4 or Forester from mobs like Europecar. Unless you
are going into Jim Jim Falls, you don't need a heavy 4WD. Lots of
2WDs go into Gunlom.
Spread over 10 days, a 200 km per day limit will be more than enough
for a round trip from Darwin, through Kakadu and back via Pine Creek.

Hi
Hoping to get to Darwin in August. It seems that all hire cars come
with
'pay by the kilometer' conditions.
Does anyone know of any hire companies that have unlimited mileage in
NT?
I don't believe we'll need a 4WD but am happy to be advised
otherwise if
someone knows better...generally intending to do the immediate area
around Darwin and Kakadu, probably Katherine Gorge too, for 10 days or
thereabouts...
Thanks in advance,
