Hi All,

There was discussion some time back about the quality of service of various optical handlers, and I have something to add. I have received completely satisfactory service from Zeiss and its Australian agent, Outdoor Sporting Agencies.

I bought a pair of Zeiss Conquests in the US in 2006. I bought them not as my main binos, but for times when I want a lightweight pair, as when I am travelling or doing longer walks. I have been very happy with them for this purpose, though the quality is no match for my 8x42 Leicas. Nor are the two in the same price range. This year I had problems with the exit lens glass and rubber containment rings. Because I had bought the binos overseas I incurred a standard cost of $80 for insurance and sending them to Germany. I thought this reasonable, as the Australian agents had had no part in the original sale.

The binos have just arrived home, repaired under warranty with no discussion. I am a satisfied customer.

Cheers,

Jill
