Wed 27 Apr Rufous-crowned Emu-wren, Halls Babbler, Plum-headed finches Bladensburg NP
Some great sightings at Bladensburg over 2 days of birding. Rufous-crowned Emu-wren sighted along with Spinifexbird at usual Skull Hole site but found RCEW easier to track down opposite Logan Falls turn-off. Unfortunately no Striated Grasswrens despite concerted effort but did turn up a nice group of Hall's Babblers. 2-3 Plum-headed finches found amongst Zebra Finches along with Spinifex Pigeon at southern side of Top Crossing site with good birding down to Cragg's Grave site (despite feral cat being present), no Pictorella Finches however (nor at Logan's Falls). Also came across small dunnart (sp) on road at night and sighted small unidentified marsupial (bandicoot or potoroo size/ shape/ gait) at Bough Shed Hole campsite at night (without spotlight handy unfortunately). Nothing of similar size appears on any mammal list for the park I have seen - any ideas?

Yellow-billed Spoonbill Kedron Brook Wetlands
A single bird present this evening with a Royal Spoonbill on marsh below dead trees near Gateway motorway/Toombul Road junction. No sign of juvenile Spotted Harrier seen earlier in Easter weekend, though the weather was pretty poor.
