Flame Robins used to be quite common as winter migrants in the
northern suburbs when I started bird-watching c. 1970. Today I had a
good if brief view of a single male and thought it notable. This was at
Latrobe University's Wildlife Reserve, by the Central Wetland just east
of the main north-south track.
Also seen - Spotted Pardalotes, Superb Fairy-wrens, Eastern
Spinebills and some unidentified LBBs. A Great Egret was fishing among
the reeds.
