Yesterday afternoon (Sunday 10 April 2011) there was a single nominate
race Little Egret (Egretta garzetta garzetta) at Fogg Dam in the
Northern Territory. Water is currently flowing over the 'dam wall' (the
road crossing the floodplain). A great number of waterbirds have
congregated to feed on the abundance of fish present. E. g. nigripes is
in abundance, allowing for nice comparisons between the subspecies.

Other birds of interest included a White-browed Crake seen from the
large observation tower and a Black-breasted Buzzard on Anzac Parade,
which is the road into Fogg Dam from the Arnhem Hwy.

Cheers, Pete Kyne and Micha Jackson.
