Hi All,
We have had a request from Western Plains Zoo to help find them a suitable
place to release a young brolga that was brought in to them during the floods
from somewhere up on the Culgoa.
We have been advised that his best chance of a successful release is to find a
flock of young birds. Release with a pair or trio of adults is not ideal.
If anyone comes across a flock of young brolgas in their travels in western,
north-western or central-northern NSW over the next few weeks or have seen
brolgas in NSW in numbers recently please let me know. Please ask anyone you
think might be able to help and feel free to forward this email.
Cheers Tim Hosking
