I managed to see a Hoopoe a few weeks before I left Switzerland. "I know," I thought, "I'll tell Mk 1 infant about it as she loves that show." Next time it was on, I said to her "I saw one of those tittifers." With that look that only a small child can pull off when humiliating an adult, she looked at me and said "It's called a Hoopoe." Mind you, she could ideantify a blackbird by call at only 18 months. Cheers, Tony |
