Bird lovers interested in helping the campaign to end duck shooting are invited to forthcoming information evenings: Wednesday February 23, Thursday March 3 and Monday March 7. All will take place upstairs at 115a High Street, Kew at 7 pm (Kew Junction). Opening season volunteers perform several functions. Some go in the water and prevent birds being shot by making noise, paddling kayaks. Some bring in the dead and wounded birds. Others onshore help the mobile veterinary team deal with injuries. A wetlands in north-west Victoria is the likely site for the opening weekend campaign on March 19/20. Rescuers will also be out every weekend of the season, which closes June 13. For further information, call Lynn on 0414 816 509. =============================== To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message: unsubscribe (in the body of the message, with no Subject line) to: http://birding-aus.org =============================== |
