Hi all,
The Wandering Tattler was found and photographed at Long Reef this morning.
Many thanks to Mark for notifying us about the beast - don't worry about the
whingers - they're omnipresent in every scene or subculture. That's my third
sighting of a Wandering Tattler and the first one that has let me take photos.
I found the best approach was to wait behind the rocks and the bird got pushed
towards me by rising tide and waves - it continued to happily feed and preen,
periodically checking me out. I've put a couple of photos up on my flickr here

Other birds seen - lots of Stints, a handful of PGPs, a few Grey-tailed
Tattlers, one Double-banded Plover seen very briefly and nothing else that was
unusual for a rockshelf around Sydney in mid-February.
Cheers
Troy
