Keith,
Christmas Beetles have been on the decline in the Sydney area for some
decades, due to woodland destruction by development. I have seen
hardly any up here on the Central Coast for a few years. Also, perhaps
with the amount of new growth on Eucalypts and grasses, due to the
recent rains, they don't have to wander very far for a feed.
Cheers,
Carl Clifford

Hello everyone hope you all had a good Christmas. Sorry for the non
bird question and this is directed mostly to Sydneysiders. The number
of Christmas Beetles appears to me to have dropped drastically over
recent years. Most times you would get up in the morning and see them
strewn around the patio and under the windows where they had been
attracted by the lights, nowadays I'm lucky to see more than a couple,
are you finding the same thing?
