After spending some time at Werribee WTP today looking at Ruff and looking for Stilt Sandpiper, we went across to Lake Borrie and saw this unusual duck. This duck appeared to be in distress, mostly floating motionless, occasionally making a slight "thrashing" movement. Could only get this rear shot, but am mystified what it is with the amount of white around the shoulder and neck. Northern Shoveller appears a possibility!? Any expert opinions?? http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/4rRG57Y2sNaEHZcDyqK5dA?feat=directlink Bob Cook =============================== To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message: unsubscribe (in the body of the message, with no Subject line) to: http://birding-aus.org =============================== |
