Hi Mikael,
I can help you out RE: OBPs and Ground Parrots at Melaleuca (have just
come back from Melaleuca after spending 2 weeks there).
OBPs are easy - sit and wait in the observation room for long enough
(generally no longer than half an hour while I was there but may be
longer given it's slightly later in the breeding season) and the birds
will come to you - particularly in the mornings and later in the
afternoon when they are more active.
Ground Parrots - go for a walk along the South Coast Track and keep
your eyes open - particularly earlier in the day. The birds will often
flush if they are near the track (have seen at least 5 that way). It's
a good way to see Southern Emu-wrens as well.
I can't help you with the other two (40-spots and Swifties) as I have
not yet been to Bruny Island. Peter Murrell Reserve S of Hobart seems
to be a good spot to go but did not get a chance to check it out as I
ran out of time.
Hope you find what you're looking for!
Cheers
Grace Lewis
