Although not unusal for the area I was pretty happy to have two Topknot Pigeons braving the Noisy Miner gang for a quick snack from a fruiting Bangalow Palm in the front yard today.

Australian Figbird Manly Selective Campus, Dee Why
The Figbirds are still here, possibly the best spot in Sydney for them. They're heard calling throught the school day, every day for the last few months. Someone rescued an unfledged bird from Harbord Rd today (handed into WIRES), which shows they must be breeding in the area too. Probably don't need to report these anymore...
Joshua Bergmark

Rockwarbler Figure of Eight Pool, Burning Palms, Royal National Park
A party of 4 among the boulders on the wave platform. Sunbathing/anting behaviour in late morning sun & occasional wave spray drift. Inquisitive enough to be captured by landscape lens.
Chris Charles

Little Eagle Wilford Lane Wetlands Ulladulla
First Little Eagle seen this year in Ulladulla. Luckily forewarned by 2 Magpies alarm calls as it sailed 40 mtrs overhead. With the low altitude and the classic underwing pattern it made the ID of this beautiful bird the easiest thing. There have also been a few sightings of the Square-Tailed Kite, seen by everyone but me, at Narrawallee and Mollymook over the last 2 weeks. They seem to be regular visitors now over the last 2/3 years.
Bob Rusk

Mon 22 Nov Tawny Frogmouth Harold Reed Reserve, Middle Cove, Sydney
A Tawny Frogmouth on the nest with at least one chick within easy view from my front deck.
Lorna Bloom

A very good number and variety of birds this morning at Cattai NP with good sightings of a Grey Goshawk on a couple of occasions, an immature Owlet-nightjar seen flying from one tree and into a hollow, quite a number of Bar-shouldered Doves, Brush Cuckoo, Pheasant Coucal (very vocal ate the same place as last weekend), Rainbow Bee-eaters, Dollarbirds, a male Cicadabird, Crested Shrike-tit and a number of nesting birds including Rufous Whistlers, Grey Fantail, White-throated Gerygone and Bell Miners.

Ivor Preston & Karen Doyle

Chestnut-rumped Heathwren, Rockwarbler, Pheasant Coucal Chiltern Track, Ingleside
Single Heathwren seen briefly in scrub close to track entrance at Chiltern Rd. Family party of 5 Rock Warblers seen about 2/3 of way along track. 2 Coucals calling from separate points on the track (far enough apart to be different birds). Also several Cicadabirds calling and 2 seen; lots of Variegated Wrens and more regular bushbirds.

Australasian Bittern (1), Plumed Whistling-Duck (50), Red-chested Button-quail (1) Native Dog Swamp Berrigan (southern NSW)
Some very exciting birding this morning. At the southern section of the swamp an Australasian Bittern was heard booming at the Nangunia Tank. 30 or so Plumed Whistling-Ducks were also here. At the northern section of the swamp more Plumed Whistling-Ducks (about 20), a single Budgerigar, Blue Bonnets and a Red-chested Button-quail was calling from mixed grassland and lingum between the road and the swamp.
Michael Ramsey

Magpie Goose (1), Budgerigar (25), Spotted Crake Boomanoomana (west of Mulwala, southern NSW)
A couple of great sightings this morning. At the wetlands along the Barooga Road a single Magpie Goose flew over. Nearest population is at Corowa about 50km east. Australian Spotted Crake and Little Eagle also here. Along the Yarrawonga Road on the way the Berrigan at least 25 Budgerigars feeding in native grasses and perched in a Grey Box. Also near the Budgies were singing Brown Songlarks, Horsfield's Bushlark and a pair of Cockatiel. 200+ Little Raven were also here feeding on swarming locusts.
Michael Ramsey

Satin Bowerbirds Nepean Weir area
I went to check out the bower near the weir in the hope of getting some photos of the male and female interacting like I reported last Saturday. I set up a remote camera and the female eventually warmed up to it and began to inspect the bower. The male was still around, albeit somewhat shy. There were also fledged Bell Miners and I observed Eastern Whipbirds feeding their young as well.
