Hi all Martin Hartree, the caretaker at Leanyer Sewage Ponds, is in hospital with a burst blood vessel in the brain and we¹re all really concerned about him. Despite what may some think about those who look after the ponds, Martin has done his best for many years to care for the wildlife there. Once, on noticing a family scaring the birds so that Dad could film their panicking flight, he threw them out. Yet more than a few keyless birders gained access to the ponds because Martin noticed and drove across to let them in. If anyone would like to send him their best wishes, I will pass them on.
