Hi All Thanks to everyone who provided advice for our unplanned trip to Bali. Stayed in a small village 10 minutes outside Ubud in a pleasant resort (private plunge pool was a highlight!). We were lucky with the weather. The week before it had rained non stop for 7 days. Had a few wet days which was good as we did need a rest. Birded for a total of 3 days. Saw 103 species; heard another 7. Lifers - 45. Highlights were Bali Barat and the Nusa Dua treatment works. Best birds: Rufous-backed Kingfisher, Banded Buttonquail - great views of both, Savanna Nightjar, and (I type with difficulty) Banded Pitta for Gavin. I missed it by seconds!
