Hi Richard.

The Hooded Parrots at Pine Creek....................I have been to Pine Creek
about this time of year for the past three years.

Hooded parrots are pretty well a certainty at the Water Tank ,but absolutely
first thing in the morning, there in hundreds, also you should find the
Northern Rosellas on the ground browsing around the hill.

For the Red Goshawks at Mataranka the best way is to confirm with the Caravan
park there at Bitter Creek,
Three year agothe birds nested at the bottom ofthe park in a tree just outside
the perimeter fence in a paddock full of Termite mounds.

In actual fact I have never before photgraphed a rare bird so easily, for a
whole afternoon Isat down fixed up two tripods one with my digiscoping gear,
the other with the Nikon DSLR and shot away, in absolute comfort.with the sun
behind me.

The following year the birds moved to over the road and I would assume this
year they are probably still there.(don;t blame me for making them move, over
the road its even busier, and noiser ! )

Don't forget to get into the paddock behind the Graveyard there at Pine Creek.

David Simpson.
