Forest & Bird eAlert Many of us who regularly visit NZ were horrified to think that mining could occur in NZ national parks. A successful petition and lobbying from around the world appears to have stopped this possibility (for now at least). As an aside, for anyone interested in NZ's wildlife, Forest and Bird is fantastic. They produce a first class mag and seem to be a positive, respected and united conservation organization (a pre-curser to BOCA/ Birds Australia perhaps?) We have subscribed for a couple of years and fully recommend membership. Cheers, Bill |
