Dear Stephen,This is very interesting. Can you tell me why the move to National Office and the making of the award Australia wide? Was the donor a friend of Hobb's or did he just stand out as being the outstanding amateur ornithologist of his time? It is interesting how quickly our stories are lost in a society so blessed with technology but no oral tradition! And while on such discursive thoughts why are black and gold birds called "Regent ...."? Regards Peter |
