Date: Sunday, June 6, 2010

Location: Long Point, Coorong NP.

Terek Sandpiper (Xenus cinereus) (1)

Curlew Sandpiper (Calidris ferruginea) (2) One of the birds in full breeding
plumage.

Other birds in the area included Shelducks, Pied Oystercatchers, Caspian Terns
and Fairy Tern. A very nice area to visit.

Previously I had seen a pair of Horesfields Bronze Cuckoo and a Pallid Cuckoo.
There were hundreds in total of Red-neck Stints, on the Coorong and Lake
Albert. One group was 100+. They flew often. I saw no Neophemas during my
searching, just a few back on the highway and too dark for viewing.
