Hi All Just adding to the Apostlebird thread re: distribution in SA. Gary and Michael, I was a Ranger with SA NP&W based at Port Augusta for 10 years and in that time (mid 1990's) Apostlebirds were sighted by me W of Quorn out towards Warren Gorge. It was just the once and there were about a dozen birds. This is about same longitude as Mambray Creek. Tony, I saw a flock of about 60 Apostlebirds once in the Olary Plains area in the Lower NE of SA. It was an exceptionally big gathering and I was unable to discern just what it was that attracted them to that one site in grassy Mulga woodland. Cheers Chris Baxter Kangaroo Island SA =============================== www.birding-aus.org birding-aus.blogspot.com To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message: unsubscribe (in the body of the message, with no Subject line) to: =============================== |
