Wow, I never saw Musk or Scaly breasted lorikeets at Sydney Uni when I was
there in the 80s and early 90s - interesting.
Yesterday in Marrickville I saw a flock of some small passerine birds very
high up flying northwards and cheeping (sounding like a budgie (?)). It was
hard to see but they appeared to have a red-brown tinge to their breasts.

Subject: Grey Fantail? migration and lorikeets,
Leichhardt,Sydney, NSW
Hi all,
Several flocks of what I believe were Grey Fantails (didn't have binoculars
with me) flew straight North over Leichhardt this morning. Has anyone else
observer Grey Fantail migration today?
Also wanted to mention that for the last two months or so I keep hearing
(and once in a while seeing) both Scaly-breasted and Musk Lorikeets in
Leichhardt and also around the University of Sydney Campus. I have lived and
worked in this area for 2.5 years now but never had these two lorikeet
species in this particular area before.
Cheers,
Nikolas
