In the last couple of days I have twice observed a juvenile Eastern Koel being fed by a Little Wattlebird. This is unusual for two reasons. Firstly, this really late sighting for a Koel at Ourimbah (Central Coast NSW). I have not seen a Koel for month or so in my neighbour. They are usually gone by around March. Secondly, Little Wattlebirds are not the preferred host. The more usual hosts are Red Wattlebirds and Noisy Friarbirds. There was considerable Koel activity earlier in the year. There were 3 male Koels showing lots of interest in 1 female and I actually witnessed a "head bobbing" display between 2 males Best Regards Allan Benson =============================== www.birding-aus.org birding-aus.blogspot.com To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message: unsubscribe (in the body of the message, with no Subject line) to: =============================== |
