Greetings,
One Channel-bill calling at my place in Yungaburra this morning.
A single drongo making a huge range of sounds is still there.

Subject: Wood sandpiper and Dollarbird
Hi
I live in Townsville and regarding Dollarbirds, they passed through in
Oct/Nov and have been mostly absent since. Last Wednesday morning, south
of here in the Giru area, we saw many Dollarbirds and that afternoon, I
saw them again in Townsville, obviously on the return migration. The Giru
run was also successful in seeing a pair of Zitting Cisticola, with the
male in full vocal display mode. For details and photograph see Birdline
North Queensland on Eremaea website <
http://www.eremaea.com/BirdlineRecentSightings.aspx?Birdline=5 >. I've
also noted a big increase in Koel (more males than females are calling)
and Rainbow Bee-eater numbers, but no Channel-billed Cuckoos.

Saw our first oriental dollarbird in the area (Mission Beach, FNQ) since
moving here last September. So many 'expected' birds are absent or in
very low numbers.
And a single Wood sandpiper at the East Feluga fish farm ponds, which we
had not previously visited. The ponds look like a good spot to keep an
eye on, though difficult to see through the roadside veg. Wandering
whistling ducks, little black cormorant, black-fronted dotterel were
there too.
