This evening I encountered three pairs of Marbled Frogmouths at two new (for me) sites in the Blackall Range, in the Sunshine Coast hinterland. At one site, two pairs were calling in close proximity to each other, with one female giving fine views. At this spot, a Sooty Owl was also heard close by but did not show. At the second site, a pair of frogmouths were present. All frogmouths were surprisingly vocal, considering the time of the year. These records bring to five the number of sites where I found Marbled Frogmouth in the Blackall Range over the past six months.
