What an amazing find - congratulations! To my mind photos don't leave any room for doubt. Structure, including those rather narrow and sharply pointed wings and trailing toes beyond the tail tip, and plumage look fine. Streaking on the flanks and belly show this bird to be a well marked individual (but not excessively dark) compared to some in the Hauraki Gulf, NZ.
