This is a charge that is brought up very regularly, but it is almost entirely baseless. The culprits are over excitable journalists looking for headlines. People in the business of discussing global warming responsibly ("climate change" is a phrase invented by a US politician trying to deny global warming), mostly only say "In a warming world we can expect XXXX to occur more frequently", not "This event is caused by global warming".

Lloyd's note is very interesting.

If we had 4 TC's in SEQ now in the space of 4 months - what's the betting that the climate change band wagon would be jumping up and down saying - "look it's global warming in action". Perhaps it already was?
