Thanks to everyone who has replied to this topic. It seems that our NZ migrants arrive far earlier than I originally thought, but am I right in saying only non-breeding plumaged birds have turned up so far? Do birds with breeding plumage turn up at some point or have all the birds moulted by the time they get here? I they moult into breeding plumage prior to departing for NZ as I've photographed DB Plovers at that time of year, but I can't say I've paid too much attention to this end of the season.
