We also saw this morning (26.1.10) two adult male (dark eyes) Black-necked
Storks in one of the ponds parallel with the road about 6km north of
Ulmarra, north of Grafton, NSW.

Greg Little reported observing a Black-necked Stork at Ash Island on
20.01.10. It was apparently a young bird. This is an interesting sighting
as Stork sightings in the Lower Hunter have been scarce over the past couple
of years. I banded two nestling Storks at Bulahdelah in October so if
anyone else sees this bird could they check whether it is carrying colour
bands, one on each tibia (above the leg joint). It is important to note
which colour is on which leg.
